What is Gramya Manthan?
How much does it cost?
The cost that Gramya Manthan incur on each individual is 29,000 INR. The cost elements include facilitation, program design, food, accommodation, travel and other expenses. They have a trust-based sliding scale contribution structure where the choice rests with participants.
I am planning to contribute atleast 7 thousand rupees for the same.
Why am I fund raising?
With this, I would love to involve people in the cause of rural immersion. For those who want to give back to the society but cannot due to daily routine.
About me
I was an Engineer by profession but my passion for educational equity landed me at Teach For India in 2014 where I taught in a municipal school in Pune for two years. In these two years, I have realized the importance of excellent education for the coming generation and how excellent education can change lives of our kids and their families.
My personal interest lies in creating alternate education systems for kids in rural and semi-urban areas to explore possibilities of connecting with personal passions at an early stage.
What's the plan, post Gramya Manthan?
Post these 9 days, I want to explore rural spaces of Maharashtra and how contextual education can be brought in rural India which will help kids connect with their passions and interests. I will use my learning from Gramya Manthan in designing leadership module for kids of rural areas who currently don't have an access to formal education system.

Gramya Manthan is a nine day rural immersion journey with 30 passionate changeagents. The journey is an exercise in coming closer to our inner-self by moving far from our comfort zone and in delving deep into our conscience by being part of a different reality. This is nurtured by bridging the rural-urban divide and creating a space to observe, understand and learn the diverse realities of India.
