Stop open urination in Hyderabad
I am on a crusade to stop our disgusting habit of open  urination . By providing roadside urinals for the public in my city I hope to curb and try to stop open public urination. My city of Hyderabad in Telangana State of India , has a major problem with people urinating in the open in public places , roadside footpaths, compound wall and fences ,street corners ... just about anywhere.
The stench is so horrible that pedestrians cannot walk on sidewalks and have to do so on the roads causing traffic hazards.
women cannot walk witout being embarrassed, men feel embarrassed but have no choice, the urge to urinate is just too much and there are no facilities .
Open urination has turned  my city into a mess and apart from the gross sight of rivulets  of urine flowing down sidewalks, and the stink, it is harmful for health.
I had given a project  with my design to the Municipal authorities and received an approval for a pilot project for 5 units.
Using my own funds and with help from family  and friends , I have installed these in February 2017.
My demo project has been successful. It is used by the public , thus proving my point that habits can be changed if facilities are provided.

After having observed the project for 6months, the GHMC has concluded that the public is using these urinals and that they are being maintained.
They have now requested a 1000 to be installed and have given me a letter to that effect. There ia a urgent request to install a 100 by January 2018.
I plead for your help , my fellow citizens , local and global, to help me fight this menace.
