Omkarnath Katharia drives an auto in Delhi. In his auto, you will find several small packets of snacks, a carton filled with packets of water, a donation box, and oodles of positivity.
Mr. Katharia has been driving his auto in the city since 2012, and has been feeding sellers at Delhi's traffic signals ever since. Each time he passes by a seller, he stops to give them a packet of water, some snacks and a word of encouragement. He also provides free transportation to the ill and sickly, to and from the hospital.
So far, Mr. Katharia has managed to pay auto rental charges, fuel costs as well as costs of snacks and water by driving his auto and through donations from passengers who wish him well.
He has applied for a vehicle loan to drive a taxi that will bring him increased earnings, allow him greater space to store snacks and water packets and improve his comfort while driving. He will begin repaying his loan through monthly instalments of Rs 9,000 per month for 48 months.
Please support his initiative to reduce fatigue among sellers who work in continuous exposure to Delhi's pollution and heat.
