Overall literacy rate of South 24 Parganas is 77.51% but the Braille literacy rate is far lower. At Premasree we impart best possible education which includes training in concept formation, mobility, routine subject study and computer education.
This project aims at providing the best possible education in Braille to the blind children at Premasree. This includes: routine subject study, training in concept formation, and computer education.
For a blind child Braille education is an absolute necessity in order to get a job in future. A major part of their education consists of general subject study. A lot of emphasis is given to training in concept formation and computer training with specialized software. All this will empower them both psychologically and financially in future. These children will be able to eke out a living for themselves
Premasree, a free residential home for blind and visually impaired children began its operation as a registered trust in December 2012.
