Even during this day and age, gender disparity remains a significant barrier to education throughout India. The result- about 3 million girls across the country are not in school.

Founded in 2007, Educate Girls is a non-governmental organization that holistically tackles the issue of gender inequality in India’s educational system at its root by working directly with governments, schools, parents, village leaders, and community volunteers to ensure access to quality education for girls.

With a focus onenrolment in schools, retention, and improved learning outcomes, Educate Girls aims to provide quality education for all underserved and marginalized girls by mobilizing and leveraging public, private, and community resources to improve access to education and ensure school quality. By leveraging the government’s existing investment in schools, Educate Girls delivers measurable results, having brought 100,000 girls back to school in the last 8 years, affecting 2.8 million beneficiaries. They aim to impact the education of 4 million children by 2018.

With a management and outreach office in Mumbai and operations in 7 educationally backward districts in Rajasthan, Educate Girls currently implements its programs in about 8,000 schools in over 4,500 villages. By donating to them, you will #StandWithAGirl to help ensure that they can be educated on larger scales, improving their health, income level and overall livelihood, to bring about social transformation.
