What is it?

#DonateSmiles is an initiative taken by two students of Christ University for social concern project along with R.K Foundation to donate raincoats to the underprivileged school children in the rural areas of Bangalore
During the monsoon season, many of these children have to miss their school due to lack of raincoat or umbrella, which results in the loss of precious study days. They also fall trap of various diseases like fever, cold, etc. due to lack of any such facility that they could use to save them from rain.
Through our initiative, we intend to cover around 250-300 underprivileged students of about 5-10 rural schools in Bangalore. Our idea is to collect funds, and utilize them entirely to the target population while keeping a control on expenses.

What are we doing?
We are looking for collecting funds from the fortunate people in the society to help the deprived ones. We believe that it is not just one single individual or single organisation’s responsibility to work for the welfare of the deprived society.
We are looking to raise money to provide at least 250-300 raincoats this year and for that purpose, we need the contributions of each & everyone concerned about it. Through this mean, we are not just distributing raincoats to these children, but also trying to secure their future by helping them to continue their education in the dire conditions this monsoon or coming.

What do we need the money for?
In order to cover 5-10 rural schools, we need to buy at least 250-300 raincoats. Average price of a single raincoat is about Rs. 300/-
In order to cater to the need of 300 raincoats, we need    300*300 = 90,000 INR.

What can you do?
You can help us by raising the money for those raincoats and bring a smile on their face. You can also help us by:
  • Volunteering for the cause by spreading the message in your office, society and to friends and family.
  • Sharing the post on social media (Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn).
