    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

Tax benefits for INR donations will be issued by United Way of Bengaluru

Update:

Thank you all for the overwhelming support and response towards this initiative. We've been able to raise Rs 20 Lakhs in a few hours including our matching contribution of $12,500.

Based on the overwhelming need on the ground, we are increasing the goal to Rs 50 Lakhs and opening it up to anyone who's still interested in supporting this initiative.

Rs 50 Lakhs will allow Swasth team to procure 100+ oxygen concentrators - and each of these supporting 1000 patients in its entire lifespan. That's potentially 100,000 lives saved.

Thank you,
Prantik & Dipti

A dollar-for-dollar donation initiative to help Swasth & ACT Grants procure oxygen concentrators from overseas to help India Breathe Again!

If you are like us, chances are that you have a lot of family, friends, colleagues and acquaintances in some part of India and you have been waking up to Whatsapp messages, Facebook posts, Insta stories and email messages with people pleading and begging for hospital beds, oxygen cylinders and access to doctors, as India fights the deadly 2nd wave, that is currently affecting around 300,000 people every day.

So if you too are feeling sapped, overwhelmed, enraged & helpless sitting far away from your loved ones, let's come together and do something about it.

Like last year, my wife, Dr. Dipti & I are kickstarting this "dollar-for-dollar" matching fundraiser campaign via Milaap to support an organization called Swasth to help them procure oxygen concentrators from overseas that will then be distributed to urban and rural hospitals within India.

Swasth Digital Health Foundation is a Not-for-Profit initiative (registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act), is an organization that is being overseen by credible industry leaders such as Kris Gopalakrishnan (ex Infosys); Mukesh Bansal (Curefit); Shashank ND (Practo); Dr. N. K. Jayram (Columbia Asia Hospitals) and many other stalwarts and the overall Program Management Partner for the body is the Boston Consulting Group (BCG)

Swasth is being supported by ACT Grants, a pioneering platform that believes that each one of us can be a co-founder for social change. The organization is led by stalwarts from the startup & VC ecosystem such as Prashant Prakash (Accel); Aarti Mohan (Sattva Consulting); GV Ravishankar (Sequoia); Vani Kola (Kalaari) and more.

Just as reference, oxygen concentrators are alternate devices to oxygen cylinders – while cylinders contain a finite amount of oxygen supply, a concentrator recycles oxygen from the air and delivers it to the patient. They can be used to manage patient requirements without looking for external sources of oxygen. These could come in very handy and help hospitals save thousands of lives in the coming weeks and help India fight COVID better.

We aim to raise USD $12,500 (~INR 10 Lacs) through this campaign and we assure to top it up by an equivalent amount from our end, so that we contribute USD 25,000 (~INR 20 Lacs) to Swasth, so that they channelize these funds to source & procure the oxygen concentrators for hospitals in India as soon as possible.

We estimate that with USD 25,000, together we would be able to help 20,000-30,000 COVID patients breathe and potentially save their lives and bring back security and joy to the lives of their families!

We request and urge all of you to support us in this mission by contributing an amount that you deem fit and also by sharing the link of this campaign with your family, friends and colleagues so that we can maximize the reach & impact - from our past experience of running such campaigns on Milaap, for every $1 that you donate in person, you can potentially help add 30 cents (30% impact) through indirect donations by sharing with your near and dear ones :)

Thank you for your support in advance.

Let's come together and help India breathe again!

Stay home, be safe and take care!
