Transforming Classrooms into happy learning spaces!
We teach seventy six eighth graders here in Chennai Corporation School,Koyambedu. Koyambedu is known for its busiest vegetable market and the bus terminal, but behind the normalcy of its rush hour our school is the only hope for the community around, who are dominantly daily wage laborers and sellers at the market to get access to quality education.We, as Teach for India fellows in the school have been trying our best to create an enhanced learning experience for our kids through our lessons and engagements post school hours.
We are transforming the classrooms into a space build on core values of empathy, creativity and self-reliance. We have planned sessions, activities, field visits to work towards building such a space by March 2019. We truly believe once given the right access to resource the kids would themselves transform into enablers and change the course of their class, then their school and gradually their community. Myself, Anantharaman G and Kavin P on behalf of our seventy six change makers would like to request your support in our efforts to raise funds for effectively bringing in these changes.
