Camp Diaries- Help Us Change The Lives of 5000 Children in One Year

"The mind is not a vessel to be filled but a fire to be kindled." - Plutarch

Sometime last year, in a government school in Hyderabad, a few students dreamt of being in camps to be able to develop their extra-curricular skills. Their teacher Milind Chandwani, along with a few others then decided, "If these kids can't go to a camp, then why not bring the camps to them?" This was the start of Camp Diaries, serving more than 900 students within a span of 3 months.

Now, in our relentless attempt to bring the best for our kids across other cities, we are now starting our Chennai and Bangalore chapters in the coming academic year.

We have a team of over 300 passionate volunteers from across different walks of life, united with our love and commitment towards serving our kids with passion! We all truly believe that a holistic education is what our kids need and they hold the power to go places they wish to!

What is Camp Diaries?

Camp Diaries is a platform that identifies and nurtures hidden talents and interests of children and makes them proficient enough to pursue these passions on their own. We believe that each child deserves to write their own story and follow their passion. A wholesome education is required to open up different dimensions of their creativity.

What do we do?

We organise camps in government and low-income private schools, for kids across different activities like Music, Dance, Magic, Drama, Instruments, Science Experiments, Computer, Math Games, Art and Craft, etc.

Through our activities, we aim to provide the kids with in-depth skills and knowledge of the activities they prefer and also, provide them with a platform to showcase their talents.

Our Impact:

We have impacted around 900 kids from 7 different Government/Low-income private schools in our first 3 active months in Hyderabad. We are now expanding to the Bangalore and Chennai context, where we aspire to collectively impact lives of more than 5000 children by the end of this year.

Why do we need funds?

Funds and resources are essential for us to be able to support our camps and reach a large number of students from across the cities we operate in. The funds raised will be used to arrange for logistics of our camps, food and also resources used in the activities like Guitar sets, Art and Craft Kits, Math Games and Puzzles, etc.

"Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much!"

Camp Diaries has now moved on to the next academic year. We already hosted our first induction of getting new volunteers on board and we now have a brand new young team of core members, who are now taking the camp diaries forward. Part of the funds remaining in this campaign are being withdrawn to the account of Tushar Uchil, who is a Fellow and carrying out activities.

This year we are also tapping into a new part of Bangalore, which is Whitefield where we are reaching a number of government schools.  Through the year we aim to reach as many children as possible and also at the same time, we are also looking at how to build a holistic curriculum for our camps. (We have a new team which works specially on the curriculum)

Thank you for all the support and please continue to support us through this year as well.
