About the campaign

Rama Mani is a housekeeper whose husband abandoned her during her 6th month of pregnancy,to get married to his relative. She was thrown out of the house along with her 3-year-old daughter. As she pulled herself together to survive for her children, she along with her widowed mother, moved to Varthur Main road and started working in the  houses. She managed to bring her children up and is also supporting her deceased sister's children

Rama mani doesn't complain. She smiles through all her troubles. Her monthly wage is Rs 8000. Her daughter Swetha, is taking a course on tailoring.Apart from the fees that Rama has to pay for the tailoring classes, she needs to give Swetha some money to travel. The 3 days she goes to class, Swetha spends around 40 Rs for travel alone.
On asking if Swetha would like a free bus pass for a month, Rama smiles and says " If Swetha gets a bus pass, she won't skip her classes due to lack of  money"

This DaanUtsav, Help people like Rama with a bus pass. The money you donate will be used to buy a pass for the month of November.  Each bus pass costs 1050/- which is unaffordable for people like Rama and also for the conservancy workers in your area who walk for as long as 3kms to work.

You can donate here and also get a bus pass for your support staff.
NOTE: Issuance of bus pass needs an id - card. Special counters will be open in October at select bus stands to get the daanUtsav special bus pass.
