Story

Have you ever thought that something we consider for our kids as a “GIVEN” is a luxury for many rural kids. Imagine young kids in rural schools sitting on the floor to complete their education.

DO THEY NOT DESERVE A BENCH?
Can we imagine that in our country on one side, we have air conditioned schools with fees reaching tens of thousands a month; on other side, millions of children are studying sitting on hard rough floors in our village schools.

Schools in rural areas continue to suffer from poor infrastructure such as shabby classrooms, missing or non-functioning toilets, inadequate fans and lights and last but not the least, lack of BENCHES and Blackboards.

WE cannot watch Young Kids sitting on a rough floor to achieve basic education and craft the future of INDIA. WORSE, they use their legs as a desk resulting in poor handwriting. These kids do not complain, they study in the prevailing conditions as their parents want them to be educated. Our small gesture of gratuity can go a long way in shaping the future of India. We can provide them an opportunity to learn and educate in less tiresome conditions.

You will agree that a bench to sit on can help the student to have a better mind space to achieve and strive in the world. It would go in long way in his/her life. It is a permanent contribution towards the well being of students as the benefits will accrue for years to come.

The Rotary Club of Pune Central (RCPC)(http://rcpunecentral.rotary3131.org/index.php) has launched an initiative aimed at improving the infrastructure of such rural schools. Globally, Rotary aims to improve the quality of lives of the underprivileged through personal and community development projects. RCPC is taking initiatives across infrastructure needs as we believe that the best form of community service lies in building long term utility.

We believe that most of us want to contribute back to society but do not know how to do it. Here is an opportunity. Each Bench costs approximately Rs. 3,100/- and each Green Board Costs about Rs. 4,500/-. Fractional contributions in multiples of Rs.100/- are also welcome.

Note:
1. 100% of the contribution will be used in procuring the benches. No administrative expenses of RCPC are met out of donor contribution.
2. 80G benefit will be available to Donors

Recently, RCPC has provided benches to Yashodeep School, Near Pune.

We have identified Late Baburao Raiyekar School, Urawade, Taluka Mulshi under Pune District. Most of kids parents are farmers, Farming laborers and Low income people. The School has total 507 (287 boys and 220 girls) students studying in Standard 5 th till 12 th . The school needs 100 Benches and 9 Green Boards. The Total Cost is Rs. 3.5 Lacs. (Request Letter from the School is attached). This can provide sustained benefit to more than 500 kids every year.

Your small donation can bring smiles on the faces of hundreds of kids; and trust me it is worth it!. The details after completion of project will be shared on website as well on donor Email.

We would like to thank you for touching and transforming many lives with your generous donation. We believe that your gesture will definitely be replenished and blessed a hundredfold.
