"We were born in Slum but the Slums does not dwell within us"
We (Dev & Chandni) the representatives of Voice of Slum are the ones who are ourselves part of slums and after all the struggles of our own life including rag picking, selling flowers on street and what not, now aim to provide slum children a platform where they can see their future amongst the mainstream society and develop skills and mind-set required for this through our support.
Since we ourselves have gone through the pain and struggle of slums, therefore, we want to bring out the other children of slums from there and give them a better life. With tireless effort we have made an organisation where we are providing education and skill development to around 300 children as of now and also placed around 53 teenagers(18 years+) in various jobs and business where they are now on their own.
As discussed, we have initiated a campaign to raise fund for our initiative in the name of “We rise by lifting others”

It all started 7 years back when Dev and Chandni , 2 ragpickers decided that they will bring a change in the lives of students living in slum and going through all the pain in their life.

What we strive for:
1. Strive to shift children from Slum to School
2. Empower children by raising awareness and providing vocational training
3. Help children to become job enablers instead of job seekers
4. Expand the reach of 'Slum Post’ magazine which is published by us “for slum children by slum children” to bring out the hidden realities and pains of slum through child reporters
5. To provide the life solution to the reported people in problem

Achievements so far: (they may look small but in reality these are nightmares)
1. 30 Slum Children Admitted to Mainstream Education
2. 53 Teenagers Skilled to get a Job
3. Empowered 450+kids via 100+ Balsabhas
4. Counseled and Engaged more than 300 Families
5. Empowered differently abled Children
6. Voice of Slum has rescued 5 girls from hell-like situations and now they are independent and settled.
7. We have also been instrumental in supporting 2 children in dire medical situations and they are under-going treatment.

Our Dream (For which we need your help):
1. To sustain our existing initiative where we are teaching 250 children and preparing them to get admitted in mainstream schools. We have hired teachers, a building to run the school, study material, stationary etc.
2. Open a school for 500 slum children who fail in our entrance exam
3. Provide one time nutritional meal to the children in the school
4. Reach out to 100000 (one lakh) children of slums through our initiatives and maWe urge from all of you to please come forward with your financial help and become our partners to achieve the above dreams of ours.ke them independent in respectable profession and uplift their family condition

We urge from all of you to please come forward with your financial help and become our partners to achieve the above dreams of ours.

Dev and Chandni voiced their opinions and came up with Voice of Slum, an NGO aimed at supporting and uplifting underprivileged by inspiring them, training them and encouraging them to go and make their livelihood by making them skill-able and employable.Voice of slum is an initiative constantly working hard towards the aim of helping slum kids to pursue education and realize their dreams

The basic purpose is to help street children step out of their closed environment and provide them with all the basic amenities from shelter, food, clothes to the most important “Right to Education”. The NGO goes beyond the mid-day meal facilities as they want children to come for learning and not just for food. Voice of Slum believes in empowering those kids who were born with nothing but failures throughout their life. Dev and Chandni are trying to provide them a standard life that they might have never seen, be it wearing good clothes, going out to KidZania or studying in a facilitated environment.
Children living in the slums have little or no education as they are not known to the Government. The local schools donot accept these children because of missing id proofs because they live in the streets and jhuggis and hence they have to rely on outside charities and voice of slum to help school them.We are one such NGO that is working towards getting the following:
  1. Proper Education
  2. Proper Sanitation
  3. Good schooling standards
  4. Making them employable
  5. Adding skill set
  6. Providing Vocational Trainings
  7. Helping them in Jobs
  8. Getting them valid Id Profs
  9. Conduct Regular health checkups
We have till date changed 100 lives and reached 450 families in slums, given them what they deserve as true human being.
Coming from slum we understand the pain and agony that a child in Slum goes through. What we went through in our life, we don't want these kids to go through the same challenge. Our point is, its high time we need to roll up our sleeves and bring the best for them as they too deserve a happy life and sleepful night without any tension of earning their bread for tomorrow.
You can not just contribute but also adopt a child and take care of his education. We will openly share the accounts with you so that transparency is maintained.
We work in an open environment where nothing has been kept hidden from our supporters and backers and thus we will ensure that we maintain the same transparency with you too!
Help us in bringing a change in their lives!
