Parimala and Vetrivel were thrilled when she got pregnant for the second time. Their first daughter Rithika (8) was equally excited about it. It should have been a memorable journey instead it turned into a nightmare. There were no known complications till 5 months of her pregnancy. It was a sudden and traumatic experience when the scan reports confirmed that the baby has a heart problem and may need a surgery to cure it.It was a very gruelling and emotional wait for Parimala and Vetrivel. The uncertainty of the baby's life gave them sleepless nights. When the baby was born they were beyond relieved to know that baby is alive but were devastated when doctors said that the disease may claim her life without a surgery.

At a time where Vetrivel and Parimala should only be worrying about their baby's life, they are worried how they can cover the costs of the surgery. Hospital stays, doctor visits, makes it very hard for Vetrivel. They live in Kanchipuram but had to come to Chennai every now and then due to the complications the baby suffers.
" She is just a month old and to see her suffer from breathlessness is very painful. I'm running out to everyone whom I know to help my child. I feel guilty to even eat, when my child is fighting for her life.I save every penny I get, still it is not enough to save her life." Vetrivel

Baby's condition has become worse. She needs an urgent heart surgery to recover completely. Unfortunately the insurance doesn't cover the treatment costs. Parimala and Vetrivel are completely devastated, they hardly eat or sleep. Rithika is in her grandmother's place and she is worried about the baby and she miss being with her parents.How you can help
Vetrivel is a daily wage worker and he earns Rs 200 per day. Hospital visits and stays have made it impossible to work all the days. They have no savings and any source of income. The surgery and medicines would require Rs 5-6 lakhs. Baby is already running out of time and any further delay would claim her life. Only your contributions can save her life.
