Hello aunty / uncle/ brothers and sisters

My name is Anindita and I am 12 years old and a student of class 8 in Paschim Gamini in West Bengal. I am the only child of my parents and quite rightly the apple of their eyes. My father is a primary school teacher and has worked hard to send me to school in Balrampur High School. Until 3 months ago I was a happy healthy teenager and you can see my picture and I was a class topper and a classical dancer and bagged all the medals possible in school.

Severe Aplastic Anaemia – do you know what kind of a disease this is? I have no blood production at all. I have daily bleeding from my mouth and nose and receive blood transfusion to support my life. Each day a new bacteria or fungus enters my blood and I get high fever and chills. The doctors have tried to boost my blood production with a medicine called ATG about 6 weeks ago and there is no response.

My only chance of survival is to go through a haploidentical bone marrow transplantation from my father. I always knew that my father would save me – but this is something I never expected. He is willing to give his bone marrow but he has already spent all his life’s savings and sold our living house for my treatment.
