The local school in Ungatti Village, Hosur, teaches approximately 250 students, with the ratio of boys to girls being almost equal. Students travel from as far as 10 kilometres to attend school from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
For all the students and staff, the school has only 2 semi-functional toilets. Needless to say, girls and boys are forced to share toilets and even then, the number of toilets is simply not enough. Due to the state of sanitation facilities, most girls prefer not to use the toilets on the school premises. Moreover, girls studying in grade 6 to 10 are forced to remain absent from school for a week every month since they don’t have access to proper toilets and water in school.
ReadySan will use the funds donated by you to construct 6 individual toilets for the school. The toilets will be constructed using European precast concrete technology. Each toilet will also be fitted with a door and a roof to ensure privacy and all weather usage. ReadySan will build and install Septic Tanks with the toilets to ensure cleanliness of the surroundings.
In order to help the school to maintain the toilets in a proper manner, ReadySan will also install pipelines which will provide the toilets with water on a daily basis.
Your funds are essential to our project and we will appreciate any and all contributions made by you towards the building of these toilets.
