Punarvas Education Society founded and registered in 1981 under The Society’s ACT 1860.
Punarvas Education Society began as a direct and heartfelt response to the visible gaps in care and education for the children with intellectual impairments.
In the eyes of society these children simply did not 'exist' and there were very few schools to accept these children.
Early 80s Shri Prabhakar Modak (Founder President) saw many more of these children were neglected from their basic right – “Right to education” and designed the educational institution to reach out to all the children with mental challenges. Providing the tools for a new life. As a part of this initiation he acquired 1,550 sq. mtrs area of plot, constructed four storied building and started a school and vocational training centre for 175 students.
Punarvas Education Society is working towards a vision of a society that accepts these children for who they are and finds a constructive place for them within its folds.
This is only possible if all elements of society are involved, aware and sensitized to the importance of education for the mentally challenged children and collective efforts are organized.
The Punarvas Education Society has undertaken a commitment as part of its remit and has already made much headway in the establishment of special school. We are now planning an expansion programme of 60,000 sq. ft. with 7 storey building. This will include expansion of vocational training center, diagnostic and therapeutic centre, creating a centre for children with cerebral and palsy, NIOS training centre, the development of a family support structure and the implementation of awareness campaigns and many more projects.

- Job sponsorship for female mentally challenged ex-students at 12000/- per year.
- Sponsor for new model class room project with Rs 2.5 lac.
