Support AaKanKsha in its pursuit of realizing 100_Dreams

Akanksha VFABS(Vision For a Better Society) was born with the vision that no child should be deprived of education due to financial constraints.

It started out as a small dream in 2011 by our founder members -Ms. Madhavi Bandreddy, Ms. Anita Madhuri, Ms. Parvati Sridevi and Mr. V Sai Vamsi Vardhan who were colleagues in TCS. I, Mr. Rajesh Battula, joined them soon in 2012.

What started out as a small dream with one kid from Warangal and 5 donors has now transformed into an organization which sponsors education of 70+ kids across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Jharkhand.

We are an NGO who are registered as a society. We also have 80G benefit for our donors. Necessity of financial help and ease of administration are two factors that we look into while selecting a student into our program. So, most of the students come from poor households ranging from those who have lost both their parents to those whose education has been neglected for years.

We understand that students who face financial difficulties face many obstacles in their path of education. Akanksha steps in these situation as their second set of parents to support them when they need us the most. We provide not just financial support but also love and moral support. We mentor them, we guide them and we stand by them when they face any failures.

Apart from sponsoring education, we are also providing tutoring to kids as part of V25 initiative. Another initiative that we are undertaking is Digital Asha through which we try to improve computer literacy among children. Though these programs we are reaching out to around 300+ children in rural government schools.

This year we aim to add another 15 to 20 children to our sponsorship initiative thereby reaching 100 students. Towards the sponsorship of these new students as well that of the existing students we intend to raise funds through this campaign.

All in all we are impacting around *400 students* and the same number of families so that they can have a bright future ahead.

This year we plan to make the number of our students under Direct Sponsorship to 100 and so we want to *Realize 100 Dreams.*

So, we request you to generously contribute to the cause we are striving for.

Dear Supporter,

The academic year 2019-2020 is already started and all our students are school. They are back from Summer Vacation.

This academic year we have already taken the responsibility of 10 new students apart from the existing 60+ students.

All the new students are admitted in the schools as per the needs of the student and the family background.

Pic - AaKanKsha always stood as a pillar of support when the families are in distress.

Our students, in their summer vacation, were involved in various activities like planting saplings, learning computers apart from the sports and games.

Pic - We could see the first change after the arrival of monsoon this year.

Sports and games are inherent in our model of shaping the future of our students.

We taught computers to 50 student in our summer camp in the project village.

Creative works like painting, drawing are actively promoted by us among our students regularly.

At the end of each academic year, we assess the performance of each of our students so that we may rectify ourselves if there are under performing students. We believe that performance assessment of the students is a way of assessing the performance of ourselves. We are satisfied with the progress that our students made in the last one year.

Pic - Our volunteer assessing the performance of our students Jessica, Mounika and Pravallika being brought up by the brave single mother.

We touched the lives of 700+ rural government school students by way of distributing the notebooks essential for this academic year. When earning livelihood becomes a priority for the parents, buying books are a costly affair for the parents of these students. AaKanKsha, with the support of two other NGOs like Maitraka from Vizag and Vasudha Foundation from Hyderabad, provided 3500+ notebooks to these students.

Pic - These students of a neglected school in a tribal dominated village were touched by our initiative.

Pic - A school which is as far as 140 Kms from the district headquarters is known for being neglected.

We plan to provide them with other stationery items like pencils, pens and bags in the next academic year.

So, with projects like Student Sponsorship, Digital AaSha, V25 Learning Center, Summer Camps, Ecological Initiative, School Development Program, Remedial Classes and School Kit Distribution project being run, our expenses are bound to increase manifolds this academic year.

This projection includes our administrative expenses (around 6%) and the support we receive from the other two NGOs in our school kit distribution project.

In the light of this projection, we would like to increase the target of our fundraiser as well as the target date.

We hope our supporters will generously contribute to our cause and help us realise the dreams of hundreds of rural students across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Jharkhand and Chennai.
