Walk of Joy India

During the walk that starts on 15th July 2017, Nomadic Lion will stop and talk to farmers and NGOs to raise awareness about sustainable agriculture and to connect farmers direct to consumers.  The walk that starts from Kanyakumari will take 10 months and will cross 13 states from South to North, finishing in Amritsar, Panjab in May 2018.

The Walk of Joy India, which aims “to share happiness and joy with all” is being co-organised by international NGO UNITED SIKHS and local Media organization, The Better India.

Nomadic Lion will be raising awareness as they progress on the walk via their website, social media activities and engaging local people from village to village, documenting the current condition of farmers in India today.
They have already successfully completed 3 walks covering 3 countries; Malaysia, Brunei and the UK, covering a total distance of 3650km.

For Walk of Joy India, they have mapped out a two part route that will take them from South to North and from East to West. They will be walking through Kerala, Karnataka, Goa, Maharasthra, Gujarat and finally finishing the first 5 month section in Ajmer, Rajasthan in December 2017. They will start again in January 2018 in Kolkata walking all the way across to Amritsar via Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Panjab.
