Akash lost his father back in 2006. His elderly mother suffers from hypertension. He has an elder sister, whom he got married with a lot of struggle.

Akash went through a kidney transplant in 2008, when he was fresh out of college. He suffered a heart attack in 2016. Since then, the doctor has told Akash that he needs to go for another kidney transplant. Akash and Nilesh tried to postpone dialysis for as long as possible- this is because after dialysis a kidney transplant is unavoidable.

Beaten down, but not broken:

Akash is determined to live his life. He is currently pursuing his CA articleship at Jabalpur, and he also takes Math tuition for 10th- 12th-grade students. His life's ambition is to become a Chartered Accountant.
Why is he fundraising on Milaap?

This campaign was started by his friend Nilesh, who met him when raising funds for a common cause. Nilesh was impressed by how keen Akash was on helping others, even when he himself was struggling with kidney failure.

How can you help?

Since August of 2016, Akash undergoes dialysis once a week, and an injection that costs Rs 2000/- every week as well. Nilesh, Akash's friend, is supporting these expenses. Akash's sister and her husband are supporting his other medical needs as of now.

Akash is scheduled for a kidney transplant- doctors are expecting this to happen towards the end of March. Since this is a cadaver transplant, doctors have told him to expect expenses including clearing of the deceased person's bills.

The surgery expenses initially amounted to Rs 10 lakhs. After consideration, the expenses were reduced to Rs 7.5 lakhs. This is a huge amount for Akash to manage on his own.
