“We need to make sure that children are kept in schools and use proactive approaches to get them back to school, particularly in the aftermath of the lockdown when schools were shut. Social protection and cash transfer programmes for families that have been affected the most is essential to help them provide for the basic needs of their families,” - Soledad Herrero, Unicef’s chief of child protection in India.
INR 5950/- can help us make arrangements to provide digital education to an underprivileged child who may otherwise drop out of education forever.
Our initial goal is to adopt 100 kids for their education during COVID - 19 from Hope Worldwide school in Sangam Vihar. Out of 350 children at least 100 students are unable to attend any classes because they do not have a smartphone or a tablet.
With your help, we can prove out this initiative and scale it to more schools, villages, slums and families who are only dropping out because they don’t have access to digital education.
We are looking forward to raise INR 6,24,750 in next one month. This cost will cover 95% of the program cost and 5% operating cost for the volunteers working directly with students and teachers.
Who we are?
PATHSHALA a'LIVE is a dream school by BRIC (www.livewithbric.com) for all children, teachers and families affected due to Covid-19. The project is not just about providing online classes but diving deep into the following areas:
- Providing access to online education
- Providing Teacher Training tools to create more engaging and empathetic classrooms
- Creating medical awareness regarding COVID.
- Social sensitization to create a support system within the community.
- Providing Mental health support/training for teachers and students.
We plan to do this in 4 phases
Phase 1 - Provide tablets and basic online teaching support to 100 kids.
Phase 2 - Create interactive content
Phase 3 - Integrate the communities of teachers, students, mental health experts, doctors, artists and scale Phase 1 and 2.
Phase 4 - Scale further so no one is deprived of education just because they cannot afford it.
Our current requirement of INR 6,24,750 is for Phase 1 of the campaign.
