Selvakumar is an engineer from East Rajapalayam, a village in Salem. He was an ERP consultant for 4 years.  In 2012,  he was diagnosed with kidney failure and has been on dialysis support ever since. He quit his job to start Shivam(https://shivam.services) to help his villagers make use of computers and internet. Today Shivam is the lifeline of East Rajapalayam. He wants many more professionals to start working for their local communities. 

Apart from Shivam, he does natural farming in his father's small piece of land and also advocates to the same.  He firmly believes that pesticides were the main culprit for his disease. He is confident that his body will recover naturally without transplantation. Though Shivam earns Rs. 15000/month for him, it is not sufficient to cover his dialysis expenses of Rs. 44,000/month.
