One fine morning just like any other day Shaurya woke up and
was having fever and it was the start of our long nightmare, for the past one
year around Shaurya is suffering from Hodkins’s lymphoma which is a kind of cancer.
The tumour has pressed his wind pipe due to which some time it becomes
difficult for him to breath and at times he faints and must be put on
ventilator, his body has failed to respond to lighter doses of chemo (two type of chemo treatments ABVD – 8 cycles and BCOP 2 cycles have already failed), so he is put on higher doses of chemo (ICE) because of which he has lost a lot of weight and all his hairs are gone. He has already gone through one round of surgery (Tracheostomy surgery) a surgical procedure to create an opening through the neck so that he can breath but because of this my child cannot speak now, higher doses of chemo and radiation therapy is given to him.
We urgently need fund for some very expensive imported life saver drug each of them costs in lacs as suggested by doctor. He will also need a bone marrow done in future once the tumour size reduces or fully gone.
I am his mother and we have already exhausted all our savings in his treatment, we need funds to continue his treatment as the treatment is quite expensive. I feel helpless as I watch my 9 year old suffer, he turned 9 this month only. There is nothing more a mother can ask for her child, but to see his child enjoy the lovely gift given to all
of us called “LIFE”.
