UPDATED as on April 6, 2020: Due to the Covid-19 situation, we are presently feeding over 1000 dogs across many parts of Delhi and NCR.
India is currently in the midst of a 100 percent lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak. This means that all restaurants, dhabas, office canteens are closed. And the street side vendors are not around. This has lead to a huge crisis for the street dogs of India who have evolved over thousands of years to be community companions for people in the tropical cities of India. India mandates sterilization & vaccination of street dogs who then co-exist on the roads with people, being fed & taken care of by communities. Now with all people gone off the streets and all shops & eating joints closed under lockdown, these dogs have suddenly no source of food. In a bid to help some of them some of us have come together to try and take care of as many of these dogs as we can. Currently the major locations that we have been able to make feeding arrangements are Connaught Place, Hari Nagar, Nangloi, Peeragarhi, Najafgarh road, Dwarka Sector 15, Vikas Nagar, Hastal in Delhi; & Sector 38, Sector 48 & Sushant Lok A Block in Gurgaon (suburb of Delhi). Please help us sustain this effort cause this time around the lives of these street dogs depends on it.
