Hello All!
I am Paresh Deshmukh, a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering Undergraduate at BITS Pilani. Coming from a small town, I have seen the hardships and the difficulties faced by the poor for education and sustaining their lives. So, after coming to BITS, I decided to give whatever I have back to the society.
Pilani being a rural place has a very saddening situation in education, with many people below poverty line. So, I taught underprivileged kids for 1.5hr regularly under the NSS chapter of our college. After which, I coordinated an intra BITS crowdfunding campaign which raised more than 8 lac rupees educating 127 children of Pilani.
But there were many questions going on in the back of my mind. What if this campaign stops or would have failed? I clearly knew that this isn't a sustainable model. Despite the government's persistent efforts why isn't it still succeeding in ensuring quality education for all? How come Cananda, Australia, USA are doing it since long and so easily? Why is China more developed though it has a greater population to manage than India?
And then I came across HPAIR(Harvard Programme for Asian and International Relations) Asia Conference. It is a 5 day event from 16th to 20th August going to be held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 600 Delegates from all over the World are coming together to facilitate dialogue and find solutions to the most important social, economic and political issues of Aisa Pacific Region. It id a great opportunity to learn from the countries who have successfully dealt with such problems and make some changes to it and apply in India. Also, it will be a platform to find technology driven solutions to our age long problems.

The total conference costs will be around 1150USD.
The conference fee is 450USD.

Airfare and VISA from Delhi to Kuala Lumpur and return is around 450USD.
Travelling, food and accomodation in KL for a week will cost me around 250USD.
And this is the only hurdle in my way.
So, I appeal for your help to help pursue my passion in Community Development. Your money can solve problems that existed from centuries.
