    This fundraiser will benefit

    Dhanya Ravi

    from Bengaluru, Karnataka

29-year-old Dhanya Ravi compassionately known as Indian’s glass women suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta (OI), commonly known as brittle bone disease, a rare genetic disorder that is present from birth. Instead of letting the disease break her spirit, Dhanya remained positive about life. Presently she is a freelance content writer and social evangelist.

At the age of 19, she had read about a teenage boy, who suffered from the same disease and needed an operation on his leg, Dhanya took action and raised the funds he needed for his surgery along with her networking friends. Since then she has been vigorous in empowering people with disability and spread awareness of rare diseases individually and in collaboration with NGO projects.

Her voices of spreading awareness and supporting the community have been heard much by participating in reality TV shows, celebrity quizzes in India and motivational talks.

For her efforts, Dhanya was conferred the National Award 2018 in the Role Model category by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities India, and was also honored with the ‘Brave Bangle Award 2012’ and ‘Annual Inspired Indian Foundation (IIF) Award 2014’ for devoting her heart and soul towards alleviating the pain of people with disability.
Dhanya has suffered and overcome so much in her life, now she wants to help others fighting similar diseases.
