Sasikala, a 38-year-old married woman from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, supports her family of four with a monthly household income of INR 12,000. She leads a group of eight women, each managing their small businesses.
Empowering women with increased income and financial independence brings significant benefits not only to individual families but also to the community as a whole. However, many women face challenges in expanding their ventures, such as vegetable sales, due to limited financial resources.
To address this, Sasikala has applied for a loan of INR 600,000 from Blaze Trust, a field partner of Milaap. She plans to use the loan to purchase a variety of vegetables, such as bottle gourd, lady’s finger, turnip, tomatoes onions and potatoes, etc. to sell in the local market. Her friends will use their shares of the loan to grow their own businesses.
Sasikala believes this investment will improve her family’s living standards and secure a healthier and more prosperous future for her children. She and her group are deeply grateful for your support and generosity.
