Our Story

Sahar, a 48-year-old woman featured in the picture raising her hand, resides in the village of Thakurganj in Bihar's Kishanganj district. She is committed to supporting her husband in their paddy and rice business. Her husband sources paddy directly from the fields, processes it, packages it, and sells it in the local market.

Sahar's household consists of four members, with a monthly income of INR 25,000 and savings of INR 12,500. She is determined to increase their income and enhance their quality of life.

With a loan of INR 200,000 from Grameen Shakti, a field partner of Milaap, Sahar plans to help her husband expand their stock of paddy and boost their sales in the local market. She is accompanied by her friends, who also strive to grow their businesses and improve their living standards.
