About the campaign

During Dr Jawahar Surisetti's yatra to counsel the girl children in remote areas of the country, he found that there was truth in one study conducted by Global Policy that girls in remote areas in India use ash, husk and rags during their menstrual periods which puts them on risk and hazard of cancer and other infections. To reach out to these girls he has proposed a model that would be beneficial to the women of the area as well as be good for the girls called the JAWAHAR MODEL of MyBeti. Immediately for today , sanitary napkins would be bought and distributed through schools from 7th grade onwards in those areas under the coordination of a lady teacher in packs of 4 per month. This would immediately create awareness , reduce risks of health and would also stop drop outs which are maximum in this age. In the next stage , the JAWAHAR MODEL, proposes a self financing model of production of sanitary napkins by a self help group which would enter into a buy back arrangement at a rate which is lower than the market rate but enough to earn for the self help group.
