Fundraise for a Cause with Milaap : the Best Crowdfunding | Milaap
31st December 2019
Dear Donors,

As mentioned in the previous update dated 30th November 2018, we have refunded donations to the donors who had requested for the same. We have also transferred Rs. 12,08,100.17 towards Patient Thejaswini's campaign.

Thejaswini successfully underwent her transplant and is presently recovering in the hospital. Once she is discharged, we will update all the donors of Mohammed Hameed Raza's campaign. Here is the link for Thejaswini's campaign:

https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-tejashwini

After refunding the donors and after transferring amount to Tejaswini's campaign, we still have Rs. 650,000 remaining in the campaign.

We are transferring Rs. 6,00,000 to Patient Shristi's campaign. 14 year old Shristi has been diagnosed with a rare disease called Hyperoxaluria and she needs to undergo both liver and kidney transplant. She requires a total of Rs. 25,00,000 for the transplant. Here is the campaign link for Shristi:

All donors of this campaign will receive periodic updates on the status of Shrishti's health and treatment via emails and messages.

Thanks for your continued support and engagement. Even though we could not utilise the funds collected for Mohammed Raza, we are saving the lives of multiple other children. Once again thanks for all the support.

Regards,
Team Milaap

Dear Supporters,

We are extremely sorry about the date mentioned for the refund in the previous update.

We'd like to thank you for the wonderful support that you have shown towards Hameed. It means a lot to all of us. However, we have some news to share with you today.

Hameed needed a liver transplant for survival and the campaign was started to fund the same. However, Hameed's parents do not wish to go ahead with the liver transplant due to their personal reasons, and therefore, Hameed will not be undergoing the transplant.

At Milaap, we release funds raised only against utilization for the intended purpose, supported by treatment update from the doctor as well as bills and invoices given to us. Hence no funds have been transferred for this campaign and the parents are aware of this and have agreed to the same.

Since, the funds could not be utilized for the intended purpose. We would like to inform you that there is a patient named Thejashwini who needs treatment for end stage kidney and pancreas disease and needs to undergo a transplant on priority.

Here is the campaign link - https://milaap.org/fundraisers/support-tejashwini

We do understand that some of you may like a refund since the original purpose was not met. - 100% of your contribution will be refunded - please reply to us by 7th December 2018 â€‹ for process us the same.

Users who have made payments via UPI, PayTM, and direct Bank Transfers and have not claimed the payment need to visit the link: https://milaap.org/payments and claim the payment. Once you have claimed the payment, please write into feedback@milaap.org so that the refunds can be processed to their accounts.

We do find it challenging that occasionally patients or their parents withdraw their consent for treatment even after funds are raised, but we do respect their decision. We also owe our donors transparency in the process, and we leave it to their discretion on how their contribution should be used.

Our prayers and wishes are with Hameed and his family. Following is the letter attached from the treating doctor Dr Goutham Kumar. You may get in touch with them if you require any further information.

We want to thank you all for your support and generosity.
