Since beginning our fundraising campaign with Milaap in March, CORO has received nearly Rs 92,00,000 in donations from a cross-section of institutional and individual donors. With these funds, we have been able to reach 12,500+ families across 8 regions of Maharashtra and 3 regions of Rajasthan. In addition to food aid, we have initiated 5 interventions aimed at addressing the loss of livelihoods, shortages in PPE (personal protective equipment), escalation of gender-based violence, and lack of access to WASH facilities.
 
CORO has facilitated: the production and distribution of 7,000 home-made masks in Marathwada and Mumbai; distribution of sanitisers, gloves and masks to community and municipal sanitation workers in Mumbai; rapid assessment of 49 community toilets in 22 communities of Mumbai’s M East ward; and, survey of 8,400 households in Mumbai’s M ward to map the anatomy of gender-based violence.
 
Going forward, we plan to deliver food kits to 5,000 families, distribute sanitisers, masks, and hand gloves to 6,500BMC sanitation, health workers and toilet operators, and begin developing “Critical Response Units” in 15 villages of Maharashtra.
