His condition is stable now. He has been in the hospital for around 5 months now. He has undergone 5 major surgeries so far out of which 2 were brain surgeries.
He was shifted to the room out of the ICU on 3rd July but due to some developments, he was shifted back to the ICU on 11th July. A plastic tube was added to his chest to drain out the excretion caused internally due to the infections. His spleen was damaged in that accident, owing to which it had to be removed. This is the main reason why he contracts infection quickly. He is now under medication and the infections are under control and reducing.
He was shifted back to the room on 25th July. Ventilator support has been removed now as he is able to breathe normally. The only thing the doctors are waiting for before discharging him is for his neural developments, he responds to pain; i.e to pinches. He can blink but is unable to focus on a particular object.
The doctors have advised playing music when we are around him and talking to him as he can hear what we say, but is not able to respond yet.

Here is an update on Ashwini Kumar's health.

Ashwini was shifted to the surgical ward in beginning of this month but later due to some complications, he was again shifted in ICU. According to latest reports, his wbc count rose to 32000 with a fever spike of 102 degrees and fluctuating BP rate. We are waiting for the latest reports and here's hoping that he has not developed infections again.
