Dear friends -

Since the first lockdown the surplus food that we used to collect from three large corporate company canteens completely stopped, this meant that about 1500 people depending on this surplus food daily were going to go hungry, these are families who even in good times struggle for a square meal, we could not afford to let them starve, so we started our own kitchens to cook and serve these and many more destitute across the city, this activity continues till date

The daily wager community that is Rajendranagara has about 15000 homes, a good number of these homes had lost their jobs since the first lockdown since techparks, supermarkets and malls are closed most housekeeping jobs and security jobs have been lost, this means that children are not getting enough nourishment,  families are unable to pay their rents in time etc. this there is serious distress in the community and we took the challenge up and reached grocery kits to thousands of families and continue to do so

We do not know when the companies will start to run full time, and have surplus food for us to collect. Your contributions are all we have to make sure no one goes hungry during these post lockdown period.

We are sharing some pictures of the food and cloth drives we have conducted and continue to do. Thanks to all your support. We need it for many more months to come.

Many thanks as always,
Venkataraman Iyer
