These satisfied customers want more solar lights

It was almost mid day, when I reached Padmabati Bagh's house. She was the leader of the group "Maa Parvati", they had taken a loan for Solar Lights. As the borrowers took some time to gather in her house, my field officer took me to show Padmabati's farms which were right next to her house. There were several vegetables in her farms- Red chilly, Okra, tomatoes, etc. Then as we were going inside, I saw this 3 month old puppy named "Raja". I played with him till the women gathered. Padmati Bagh had 4 children- 3 daughters and 1 son. Her eldest son was in 12th class and daughter in 8th class; other two sons were too young to study in school. They had a total of 7 members in their household. They had 5 acres of land, and would grow paddy and vegetables on this land. They were in a better position than the other farmers I had met as they were not completely dependent on rains; they had a tube well in their farms. They told me how they used a Kerosene lit lamp which would come with it's own set of problems- long queues, delay in supply by the dealer, adding to their monthly expenses, released smoke etc. She told me that how easy to carry, compact, bright and durable Solar Lights are. The light lasts for 2 days, when fully charged. I could meet 6 women out of the 10 women. All of them were satisfied with their solar lights. Padmabati had 7 members in her house, she added that, " we need another solar light; now that all our children will start studying soon, we would need another one for them. One light is enough for 2 but not for 4 ". The loan usage was, therefore, completely satisfactory. The women were relieved that they do not have to use the Kerosene lit lamps. These lamps can cause injuries, burns and were not easy to carry. They have been using these lamps since ages So, your loan helped these women get rid of such an old and traditional alternative that they used. It helped them switch over to a cleaner and better option.
