Latifa is an agricultural labourer residing in a village in Dhupguri. She works on other's farmland. She said, "The working number of days in the field depends on the cultivation. Sometimes I work for 10 days and sometimes 20 days in a month with Rs. 130/day as my income." She lives with her husband, a mason in Dhupguri town area, and two sons. Her elder son is studying in class 11 and the younger son for whom the education loan was taken is in class 8. Her younger son, Tahibul, was sitting beside her while we were having the conversation. "I want to become a doctor and serve the people in my village," said Tahibul when asked about his aim. His mother said that he doesn't disturb or create any trouble and does his own work. She said, "He knows how to cook so when he is hungry and no one is at home, he cooks food for himself and eats it, unlike his elder brother." Tahibul learnt to cook by looking at his mother cooking food. Another thing Latifa really likes about her younger son is his 'no-complain' behaviour. She said that he has never complained about anything and is happy with whatever is provided to him. And he also studies when it is time to study. The loan has helped in paying off his school admission, tuition and books expenses which would not have been possible without your support. Now, he is doing his best in his studies so that one day he can achieve his aim and not let his parents down.
