The moment I entered Pramila Behere’s house I was surrounded by pictures of Indian gods and goddesses. Pramila and her husband were sitting in the entryway of the house making potato masala for their gupchup stall. The couple spends most of the day preparing masala, gupchups and spicy water for their gupchup stall. Pramila’s husband leaves home around 5 in the evening to open his stall and returns home late into the night.

11 months ago Pramila took a loan of Rs 20, 000 for her elder son, Mitu’s education. Mitu is pursuing his +3 Arts from Bhubaneswar. His younger brother is in Madras studying hotel management. Mitu was out learning about mobile engineering when I visited his mom. " He is learning about mobile repairing at a friend’s shop. He wants to open his own shop. The investment is about Rs, 1,00,000, lets see. " Pramila told me looking at me hopefully. They had used to loan amount for their’s sons training and skill development in mobile repairing.

When I asked her husband if he was planning to expand his food stall, he told me quite philosophically that life was a playground and all one could do was put his best game forward, quoting lines from the Gita. Thank you for supporting Pramila and her family.
