Meet Nirupama who wants her daughter to get the best education

Nirupama, the mother of Sunita Mallick, lives in a village known as Tirinath Basti in Surya Nagar area of Bhuvaneshwar. I met her a few days in as I was on a visit to the village. The woman sitting first from right in the picture is Nirupama. She is a member of Akhandalamani JLG (Joint Liability Group). Almost 3 months back she had taken educational loan from Milaap for education of her daughter Sunita who studies in 4th standard in Luv Kush Vidya Mandir, a private school. The loan was required to pay for the school fees and the private tuition fees as Nirupama herself is not educated and can’t help her little daughter with the homework. Nirupama works as a saleswoman in a Kirana Shop in her locality while her husband is an auto driver. Without Milaap loan it would have been pretty difficult for her to get her daughter enrolled in the school and pay for the tuition fees. She had a very good experience with Milaap and its field partner and is quite happy with the loan.
