Embracing a cleaner form of energy

41-year-old Lakshmi had taken a loan of Rs 1,500 to buy a solar stove. Today, she is able to use the stove for cooking and boiling milk. As quoted by Lakshmi, her reason for buying the solar stove was that it would not emit any smoke or suffer any form of damage easily. Also, she added that it was very user-friendly. After keeping the stove outside to recharge for two-three hours, she is able to use it for six hours continuously. Lakshmi and her husband are farmers by profession and invest upto Rs 70,000 in agriculture every year. Apart from farming, they also earn their income by milking their cows and selling the milk to the villagers and in the local market. She is thankful to have gotten the loan to buy and go for an ecofriendly lifestyle choice.
