Jui's mother had taken a loan from Milaap to fund her private tution fees. Since she was not at home, I could only meet her mother. Jui is the youngest child. In order to fulfill her dream to work as an accountant and work in the big city, Jui has always been a studious kid. Her mother talked about her with a lot of pride.

So, when Jui mentioned about her struggles with class 11 syllabus, her mother knew it was a serious concern. Both her parents are illiterate. So, there was absolutely no help at hand. Studying at government schools tends to be free of cost. However, kids like Jui need help in order to understand the core concepts and pass the exams successfully So, the students heavily rely on private tuitions. This demand for private tutors had led to a hike in their fees.

Jui’s parents barely earn enough to make ends meet. They own a piece of land. The earnings from growing paddy and jute as such proves insufficient to sustain the family. “It's times like these we realise how tied our hands are," she said. “But, then my neighbour told me about the micro education loans. I wondered how would we manage to repay it but I saved that worry for later. I knew Jui needed those classes to even make it to class 12.”

She applied for a loan of Rs. 15000 from Milaap. The loan amount took care of her tuition fees for the whole year. Jui recently got done with her exams and is awaiting her results. Jui's mother is hopeful that Jui would clear them with flying colours.
