50 years old Lakshmi is fighting against all odds to educate her granddaughter

50 years old Lakshmi  Maharana was my next borrower for the day. She lives with her 3 children and daughter-in-law in Rental Colony, Bhubaneswar.

We reached Lakshmi's place around 12 noon and were warmly welcomed by her and the newly married Rani, her daughter-in-law. They live in a spacious 3 bedroom house, which made me wonder why they took the loan ? They offered me a glass of chilled sweet mango juice which was too tempting to be denied. I had a sip of it and casually complimented her on having a nice place. She sweetly remarked saying , " 6 people live in this house. My husband's family made it 30 years ago. He passed away 5 years back due to kidney failure. Things have only got worse since then. I met an accident a year after that. My son stopped studying and got a job to help with the bills." 

I was happy to learn that the difficulties of life had not defeated the Maharana family. This was a well-cultured family with high moral values. They are striving to educate Lovely, the youngest member of their family. Lovely is in standard one and is a bright, bubbly girl. They want her to become a skilled and independent women.
