Lalitaben, who is the group leader of Jannat Mahila Mandal, took a loan of Rs 15,000 to buy cloth material at wholesale rates. She stitches various garments with the cloth material she purchased. Her husband is in-charge of buying the cloth material and selling the finished product, whereas Lalitaben stays at home and stitches the garments.
She also occasionally teaches basic stitching techniques to the neighboring women from her village. After her current loan, she makes almost Rs.3000-4000 in savings. From her next loan or maybe a couple more after this one, she eventually hopes to save enough to open a shop in a good location. She has two daughters and two sons, and lives in a joint family with her mother-in-law and father-in-law.
