This 5-month-old's Heart Will Stop Beating If He Does Not Get An Urgent Surgery

5-month-old Ridhan can steal hearts with his cute smile and baby talk. Anyone who meets him will not even know that he is suffering from one of the most painful heart disorders. Ridhan was born with a hole in his heart. He needs an open heart surgery to fix the defect as soon as possible. If delayed, Ridhan's heart will stop beating.

A simple cold led to the most horrifying diagnosis

Praveen and Ashwini got married last year in February. The could not wait to start a family. Ridhan brought a lot of joy to this family. His parents, uncle, and grandparents rejoiced for months until one day he fell sick.

"When he was 3 months old, he had a severe cold. I took him to a doctor who told us the cold and cough was normal, but he suspected something wrong with Ridhan's heart. We had to follow with an Echo, and that revealed he had a hole in his heart."

If we delay treatment, we will lose Ridhan

For the past 2 months, Ridhan's life has been a nightmare. He cries out of pain, and turns blue from time to time. Tests following the echo revealed more about his condition. He has transposition of the great arteries (his body is receiving bad blood), along with high pressure on one of his lungs.

"The doctor told us that we cannot delay any longer. Every day, every minute that we push, puts Ridhan in more danger. If his lung collapses, we cannot go with the heart surgery. If he keeps growing, his heart will fail unable to compensate, unable to pump blood to his whole body."

He is not even a year old and he is in so much pain

It has been painful to see this 5-month-old suffering from something he cannot even verbalize yet. He has not been drinking milk or even sleeping right. Praveen is the sole breadwinner for this family of 6, and with an income of Rs. 10,000, he is unable to save enough to fund Rs. 3 Lakhs for the surgery.

"I feel terrified everytime Ridhan cries. He turns blue. He finds it difficult to breathe now. Each breath he takes as if he is struggling as if there is no air in this room. I want to do everything I can to save my son, but my everything is not enough."

How can you help

Praveen's family is unable to arrange for money without which the surgery is just a dream. With every lost moment, Ridhan's condition is getting worse.

Your contribution can save this little one.
