45-year-old Babu had every reason to celebrate. His life for the past two decades had been hard, but now he was going to settle down. He just got married, and he was planning a life with his new wife. Unfortunately, things turned upside down when he met with a traumatic accident. Now, he is fighting to survive.
Babu works in private company called GAVS Technologies in Chennai. He belongs to a lower middle-class family and is the sole bread earner of the family. He was the first one to graduate in his family and works extremely hard to take care of everyone.
"On 10th August, around 8:30 pm, while returning back from office, he met with an accident. He was immediately taken to the hospital by his colleague. When I was informed about this, I didn’t know how to react. I too rushed to the hospital, but I could not even have a glimpse of him. He has been admitted to the ICU already by then. I wanted to see and meet him, but he was unconscious for so many days”, says the 20-year-old Ananthi.
4 years ago, Babu came to Chennai to study and make a decent life for his parents. He took an education loan to support his studies and his poor background was never a reason to stop him from becoming a graduate.

2 Decades of Financial Struggle
Babu belongs to Kalkuppam village, Thiruvanamali district in Tamil Nadu. Although Ananthi and he stay in Chennai, his parents are back in the hometown and work as daily laborers to earn a minimum amount for their living.

“My husband was extremely dedicated to his work. He put his life on hold for his family. Every time I saw his sincerity, I felt extremely proud to be his wife."
After all that struggle, he is now earning Rs. 30000. Things were just getting better with him and Babu got married 2 months back. But the happiness was extremely short-lived.
