Poltu Bera, from Daulak Chak village in Hooghly, West Bengal, is a labourer, and a father of two. In 2011, he was headed to a certain
death with a wea
k and enlarged heart. With the help of Ramakrishna Mission in Kolkata and its former students who rallied around to form a 30 member committee, a crowdfund was set up for Poltu's surgery. 
Ridhi, and Poltu, are just two examples who have been given new leases of life, thanks to the goodwill of people. However, there are several more who need our help.
