One year later - Sarath's journey with Milaap!

It feels great when a friend at Milaap completes a year. While it’s a personal and professional milestone for him/her, for us it’s great a reason to eat cake ;)

Recently, our web designer Sarath completed his one year at Milaap. Addicted to designing and bike riding, he is the man behind all the UI/UX you see on our website. He hails from Palakkad in Kerala. He has 4 years of experience working as an application designer &  also has experience teaching Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML and various multimedia tools. Recently we had a fun tete-a-tete with him and try to get to hear from him about Milaap (since he doesn’t speak much)
 .

Q) How did you hear about Milaap & what was your motivation to join the team?

Before joining Milaap I was freelancing & teaching students web designing at a small institute. But I always wanted to use my skills for the betterment of the society. No doubt teaching students was a great way of doing good, but I wanted to help rural communities in India. I heard about Milaap on a job portal where they were looking for a Web Designer. With great enthusiasm, I immediately applied for the position and Milaap reached out to me. After a rigorous process of interview I was appointed as a Web Designer.

Q) Tell us about your experience working with Milaap

It has been fantastic. I have spent around 4 years in a corporate world before joining Milaap and the joy I get working at Milaap is an experience I have never got in the past companies.

At Milaap, everyday you’re out there for a new challenge. Sometime I am designing banners, posters for fundraisers, sometimes working on Milaap’s web design and at times teaching new kids at Milaap Photoshop skills.

Not to mention the co-founders especially Anoj & Sourabh at Milaap who understand me and are like my friends more than my colleagues. I have met some of the most amazing people at Milaap. We are not colleagues here, but like a family working for a common issue.

Q) What do you most enjoy about Milaap?

The people working at Milaap who come enthusiastically everyday to work for a social cause. Also I use to love the IIM-B campus where we were previously located, it was calm and beautiful. Wish our office was still located there.

Q) What is it about working at Milaap that brings you joy?

The joy of working for a social cause and utilizing my design skills for Milaap’s causes brings me joy. New challenges that I face everyday help me to perform enthusiastically everyday at work!

Q) One word that sums up your experience at Milaap
Amazing!
