Q) Tell us about yourself & your prior experience before joining Milaap.
I am a Kannadiga who grew up in Solapur, Maharashtra and graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University at RIT Rajaramnagar.

I got seriously interested in computer programming towards the end of my engineering, and decided to try my luck in the software industry. It's been 13+ years now, and my passion for coding has only grown. Prior to joining Milaap, I worked with Infosys Technologies Ltd., eGovernments foundation and Gluster Software India Pvt. Ltd., most of it in product development in C and Java technologies, in various domains like Banking, eGovernance and Storage. I also worked with Red Hat for ~1.5 yrs when it acquired Gluster.

On the personal front, I am married to Pradnya and have an 8 yr old daughter Mukta. I'm a movie buff, love Hindustani Classical Music & Ghazals, and have recently picked up serious interest in photography.
Q) So how did you hear about Milaap?
After leaving Infosys and joining a startup, I fell totally in love with the start-up culture. To keep an eye on start-up awesomeness at Bangalore, I regularly attend start-up events. I had seen Sourabh in one such event, and also happened to meet and talk to him soon after Milaap was incubated at IIMB. I was quite impressed by the idea of Milaap and the founder-trio of Sourabh, Anoj and Mayukh.
Q) What was your motivation in joining Milaap?
I have followed Milaap's progress almost from the time it started, believe in it's idea and am impressed by the team. So the opportunity to do what I love to do (software development) to achieve what I want to do (positive social impact), in a hard-core start-up environment like Milaap, was motivation enough :)
Q) What is your expectation from Milaap?
I expect Milaap to become a de-facto platform for micro-lending to the working poor of India in coming years, by providing an engaging and gratifying experience to lenders, and creating a healthy & transparent ecosystem that adds value to lives and businesses of lenders, field partners and borrowers alike.
Thanks Shireesh! We hope you have a great time working at Milaap!Â
