I went to meet Snehalata and her mother, Gouri, a member of Maa Tarini JLG (Joint Liability Group) in Bhuvaneshwar, on 31st of October, 2014. She lives in Rental colony of Behrera Basti with her husband and children. Gouri works as a domestic help while her husband is an auto rickshaw driver. Her family income is around Rs 15000/ per month. She has 2 daughters; her elder daughter- Snehalata is currently a student of grade 4 at UGMA School, Bhubaneswar while her younger daughter- Sravani- will be enrolled in a school soon. Gouri had taken a loan of Rs 15,000 almost six months back from Milaap for funding the education of her daughter Snehalata. The loan amount was used for paying the various educational expenses such as admission fees, tuition fees and other related expenses. She had a very good experience with Milaap and the field partner, Mahashakti Foundation and is quite happy with the loan.
