Swati heart condition was caught a few months back, when her father took her to a doctor for a mild but persistent cold and cough. Working on a strong suspicion, the doctors decided to conduct a heart echo test as they suspected a defect in her heart.
Open-heart surgery is Swati's only option to surviveAfter many tests, the suspicion became real. What is worse is that the hole in Swati's heart is getting worse, and doctors recommend urgent open heart surgery at the earliest. Swati's parents have been warned that any delay could be fatal to their daughter's life.
"She is our only child, and we love her dearly. Since we found out about her heart condition, we can hardly sleep at night. All we do is worry about arranging for the operation. Every thing is wrong about this situation. We have to see our daughter suffering and cannot even manage to arrange the money that will make her better. We are helpless", said her clearly distressed father.
Family of humble means
Swati’s father, Adunath Mishra works as admin staff in the hospitality department of CIMS. Her mother is a homemaker. Though the couple has no other children, Swati's medical condition has greatly upset their finances. They are struggling to arrange funds required for their daughter's open heart surgery.
The estimated cost of entire surgery is Rs 1.8 lakhs and unfortunately, her parents do not have the funds necessary to afford her surgery. They are worried that if they do not get her treated she may not survive.
