Inseparable Since Birth, These Siblings Now Face Death Together As Well

“Look at their faces... they look so happy! They keep fighting over who is stronger than the other, who can save the other one from all the dangers. They are inseparable, they love each other so much. But my little children don’t know that their helpless parents have no means to save them from the dangerous disease that they’re suffering from…,” - Rumpa, mother of 6-year-old Suswati and 4-year-old Arijit.

Suswati and Arijit are both battling Thalassemia Major. Their bodies produce lower-than-normal amounts of haemoglobin. Their only cure - a bone marrow transplant.

But all this you won’t be able to gauge just by looking at these kids; their smiling faces won’t ever let out the secret of their condition

Is this a test? How much longer do they have to suffer?

Suswati was diagnosed with this blood disease when she was only 5 months old. Doctors had made her got a blood test when she developed a high fever; her parents had no idea that the blood test would change their lives forever.

“The dangerous disease didn’t stop at my daughter. Few months after our son was born, we noticed the same symptoms again. We were terrified, praying to God that he was fine but…,” - Rumpa, mother

Arijit too was diagnosed with the same disease. Both of them have been undergoing blood transfusions since they were a few months old. But that is of no use any longer.

50 lakhs... my entire life’s savings will not be that much, how will I save my children?

Rumpa and Satyendranath have never felt this helpless before. Both their children are suffering. They don’t have much time, they even have the donors ready. They are just waiting to gather the funds.

“25 lakhs for each of them - 50 lakhs in total. How will I ever arrange for so much? I work at a small factory, the money I make goes in their treatment. I have spent over 5 lakhs, all of which was borrowed. I don’t know if I can ever pay them back,” - Satyendranath

They are just 6 and 4. They have their entire life ahead of them. Only a bone marrow transplant can save them. The parents are begging for your help.
