These Desperate Parents Have Only Few Hours To Save Their Newborn From A Failing Heart

Rajni can’t come to terms with the fact that her baby boy needs an urgent heart surgery to live.

“He is just a little baby and now they’re telling me that his heart is not working properly. Does this even happen to babies? I am so scared, I don’t want to lose my baby,” - Rajni breaks down crying.

Rajni and Rakesh have been in the hospital since last week, they are struggling to gather funds for their baby’s surgery. It needs to happen at the earliest - that’s the only hope for this newborn. Their 3-year-old daughter is at home, calling them every now and then, crying, begging them to come home with her baby brother.

A regular check-up revealed this baby’s disease

Rajni’s baby was healthy at birth - the parents were overjoyed, they felt blessed. But just a week later, when they took the baby for a regular check-up, the doctor was not happy with the test results.

“But he looked so normal, there were no symptoms. I am at a loss. My baby is admitted to the ICU and I am literally standing here unable to do anything,” - Rakesh, father.

His heart is not pumping enough blood - a delay in the surgery can kill him

The large blood vessel (aorta) that leads from the baby’s heart has considerably narrowed. The baby’s body is not getting enough blood. If the surgery gets delayed any further, the baby won’t live. But his farmer father doesn’t have the means to afford the surgery.

“The doctors in our hometown, Moradabad told us to take our baby to Delhi immediately. All the while in the ambulance both of us kept praying that our son survives till we reach the hospital. For the last few days, I haven’t been eating or sleeping properly. I only worry about my baby now,” - Rakesh.

Rakesh earns around Rs 250 per day by working on others’ fields, he has no savings. He has already spent about Rs 60,000 on his baby’s treatment. He needs another 5.5 lakhs - the only way he can do this is with your help.

Your generous contribution can save this baby boy's life
