His limbs were at risk of being amputated
Vikas was diagnosed with dry gangrene, which is an acute and fatal form of the disease. The 1-year-old’s skin was littered with dark spots, and bruising and discolouration resulting from clots in the blood vessels. In the worst case scenario, amputation is the only way to stop it from spreading to other parts of the body and there were high chances of Vikas losing his limbs to this condition. In addition, he was also grappling with severe infections and multi-organ dysfunction.“When we heard that he may have to have his limbs amputated, I was horrified. Why did our child have to endure all this? How did it get so bad right in front of our eyes? What would happen to him if he lost his hands and legs because of this dreadful condition? Santosh, worked tirelessly, all day and all night in order to earn enough money to meet the expenses of his son’s treatment. Vikas’ parents were fortunate that their prayers were answered right in time, and that your help arrived before something bad could happen to their little angel.
